Is it still worth trying your practice if previous Sports Therapy, Physiotherapy, Osteopathy and Chiropractic care did not help?
Yes, a large number of our patients have had other previous treatments that has not been successful. Our practice philosophy is to determine the cause, alleviate the problem and then prevent further occurrence as we restore normal biomechanics and muscle balance.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many treatments will I need?
We do not have a set number of treatments for any condition – every patient is an individual. However, following your first appointment, the Sports Therapist will discuss the anticipated number of treatments.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Dress comfortably in loose-fitting clothes. The therapist will need to see the affected body part, for the lower limbs bring shorts, for back problems the therapist may require you to remove your top.
How long is the initial exam and what does it involve?
The initial visit typically lasts 60 minutes and entails an exam, musculoskeletal testing, review of past imaging/medical history, accurate diagnosis, report of findings, and treatment. The therapist will also discuss any other complicating factors that may be present or could potentially become a problem. Please bring any imaging and relevant radiology reports.
How long are follow-up visits?
Follow up visits are 30 minutes. The goal of any treatment is to get you back to functioning as well as possible without pain and limitation so you will be given specific guidance that you are expected to follow if you want the best resolution to your problem.
Are there any other treatments that can do the same thing?
The short answer is not exactly. There are many manual treatments and instrument treatments that seem similar from the patient perspective, but the proof is in the results that we achieve.
